In Hong Kong, assessments are available through the HK Government Hospitals, HK Education Bureau, and private educational, medical, and psychological practices.

Overall, an assessment should be a helpful process and it should provide the parents and school with strategies on how to facilitate the student’s literacy development.

Assessment is only the first step.  Once the areas of weakness and strength have been identified, it is important to then have a road map to boost these strengths and weaknesses.  The report from the assessment should give you ideas on how to move forward.  For school-aged children and teenagers, we urge you to talk to your child or teenager’s school, show them the report and involve whoever completed the assessment.  Try to ensure that parents, teachers, and student are all working together to help him/her reach his/her potential.

For strategies and other ideas on how to help, please visit our Resources page or attend one of our Upcoming Events.
